Love Letter from Hell

Unknown

When we were growing up,
We were the best of friends.
We had good and bad times,
We went through thick 'n' thin.

And then as we grew older,
We grew closer yet.
We loved and laughed together,
There are times I won't forget.

And then as life went on,
We learned some dirty jokes.
We laughed at them all night,
And lit each other's smokes.

But somehow we were empty,
And never filled with joy.
Both of us had known it
Since we were little boys.

And then we both were gone,
Our lives alike so well,
But you were known in Heaven,
And I wound up in Hell.

When we were both much young,
Our lives both filled with strife,
You went to church one Sunday
And asked Jesus into your life.

You asked him and he entered,
But then you left him there.
His wondrous love and mercy
With me you did not share.

You never said a word about
My lost and dying soul.
You never spoke of Jesus,
How he could make me whole.

We spent our lives together,
But we're apart eternally.
I'll be dying countless deaths,
And you'll always be free.

I'm glad you went to church that day
And found the truth so dear,
Because I love you very much,
And I don't want you here.
